study for me...

I went along to the local education office and they suggested doing the certificate in supporting teaching and learning in schools.
Now, I was accepted into University (in NZ) to do the 1yr postgrad diploma of teaching but that fell by the wayside when we moved here a month ago. I have a business diploma and my BA and still want to study to get my teaching qual - it'll only happen once my 3 yo goes to school in September. Would this qual be worth doing? Looks like it would be useful to be a TA etc, so fine for doing a bit of work before cracking on with study again. Will it be cross credited to any teaching qual or be useful to be accepted?
So, worth it, or a waste of time??
Thanks all!!

The experience of working in a school will be very useful if you wish to apply for a PGCE course at a University here, however I don't believe the course will actually count towards any credit on a PGCE course. If you wish to be paid whilst you wait for the appropriate time to apply, it would also be good, otherwise volunteering in a school/variety of schools would also be just as beneficial.
