Hi, I'm new to posting on here but often read through discussions as there always seems to be a lot of good and varied opinions.

My DH and I are currently looking at schools for our DD currently year five but looking to find a school to take her from year six through to (hopefully) year twelve.

We don't really want to send her to Charters so are looking at LVS, The Marist etc and any opinions / advice / personal experiences would be appreciated.

Many thanks.

Oops sorry didn't see your post PoshDee. SWPS are brilliant at settling the Year 7's in, and because they come from so many different primaries they're all in the same boat in terms of not knowing any, or many, class mates in advance. They used to do a pre school netball course, (not sure if they still do) my daughter didn't go because we were on holiday, but the girls who did go found it useful to know a few friendly faces on the first day of term. I hope it works out for your daughter, I certainly have no regrets about sending my two there despite the crippling fees!!!

Thanks Sherlockholmes221b. Crippling fees! Are there a lot of extras apart from the School fees? Good to know that u had no regrets sending your daughter there.

God yes tell me about it, we started off sending our oldest private because there had been reports of bullying and a stabbing at our local Comprehensive! And then what you do for one you have to do for all, so ended up with three sets of school fees. It has been tough and all our savings/ISA's have been eaten up but luckily Hubby's salary just about kept pace with the increased costs and now with our son swapping to State in September and only one more year remaining for daughter we can see light at the end of the tunnel.
In terms of extra's I bought a lot of cheap second hand uniform (and in fact have a bag of stuff here now my daughters are in non uniform 6th form - if you'd like it PM me, it includes a couple of blazers I bought new) and allowed the girls a school trip each year, which can be expensive. My oldest has done extra drama which was around £82 a term plus exams and my youngest guitar lessons - which was much more expensive but she gave up just after we invested £200 in a new guitar Angry
