Hello!

Not sure where to post this question but I'm wondering if anyone can help me... I'm doing an adult education course and my assignment at the moment is wealth in areas and it's impact on services. Ie in wealthy areas are you more likely to get waitrose as a supermarket and a gastro pub as your local versus poorer areas whe maybe you'd get a lidl as your supermarket and a boozer as your local.

So... I'm looking at Wiltshire, Cornwall and Norfolk as my three areas and am starting with Wiltshire so can anyone please help me by suggesting areas in Wiltshire that they would consider to be very affluent and areas which they consider to be much poorer. It would be a great starting block for me to then investigate the services provided in the various areas.

It's a actually very interesting and the first time I've enjoyed education for sne time, lol.

I'd start with Marlborough as a very wealthy town. Maybe look at areas of Swindon as less affluent. Amesbury, devizes also fairly affluent.

The thing about Wiltshire, like a lot of rural counties, is that the real money lives in the countryside. So a town like Salisbury can have some quite down at heel parts, but also a giant Waitrose because of all the people who come in from the villages to shop. So you would need to be quite specific about areas to be able to really pinpoint the differences.

Having said that, Lonecat is spot on and Marlborough is very affluent, Swindon less so. Trowbridge is also quite manly, as is Westbury.

Thanks for that, specific villages that are affluent or not are useful too as distance to services would be an interesting addition.

Metranivavin what does manly mean with regards to wealth - apologies for my ignorance!

Also, is Lonecat an autocorrect as I've never heard of it and neither has my google!
