Database on leavers' destinations?

HilaryM · 30/07/2013 16:13

A month or two on here someone linked to a gov.uk website which had a database of percentages of pupils from all state UK sixth forms going to Oxbridge / Russell Group / other universities. I thought I'd saved the link, but I can't find it, and I'm failing to find the site via google. Can anyone help?

Thanks in advance.

BUT
there is a huge caveat with that sort of data
take my local 6th : Peter Symonds
it gets incredible numbers into RG Unis
BUT a decent chunk of its intake is from the local private schools ....

That's interesting, of the 3 schools looked at for DD, inverse relationship between GCSE results & % that stayed in education (ie, lower GCSE results more likely to go on to further ed).

Talkinpeace it sounds like you are suggesting that PSC only gets its good results because of the students who arrive there from private schools. I'm sure that's not what you meant.....

Talkingpeace may have meant that it's not reliable for people who assume that the students going on to Oxbridge/RG uni's from the state 6th forms have been state educated all the way through, because in fact some excellent 6th form colleges pick up a lot of students who've spent 3/5/+ years in private education before transferring. That's how I read it, anyway. Sorry if I got it wrong :)

no, you are quite right.
I am sure PSC have the detailed data,
and I know that from my DCs comp around 5 (out of 300) a year go to Oxbridge after PSC and BP and Brock
BUT
politically it will never be released
certainly 6th form colleges like PSC are very well heeled
but the comps round here are academically on a par with most of the private schools anyway
