Anyone else fed up with being on PTA?

I organise the discos (my PTA project)and we have to hold ours at a local Comprehensive school as our Head doesn't like them at our school on a Friday as he would have to ask the caretaker to stay late. We therefore have to pay for the hall.

I have just had a phone call from the Comprehensive to say there has been a double booking for our already booked Reception/Year 1 Disco which was planned for 16 June and the other booking came first Angry! I just managed to call the school to stop the letters going out to parents thank god as the whole PTA could have been embarrassed Blush and now I have to rebook the disco man who is new and may think I'm loopy as I only booked him last week!

I am working full time for two weeks and really don't need this. The letter to parents now needs re-doing (hopefully the hall is re-booked for 30 June) but luckily I can delegate it as I won't be in school due to work!

As you can tell I am obvioulsy REALLY busy at work as I am posting on MN!!

Rant over !!!!

..doesn't it always happen at the worst times! I've been on hols for a week, went back to work on Saturday to an empty office(that is, no staff but loads of work!), got shedloads of washing etc etc from the holiday, and the secretary of our preschool emailed me at 4pm on Sunday demanding that I email my report to her by 7 as she'd forgotten to ask me for it and needed it urgently! I was at work till gone 6! Felt like telling her to forget it....but we just grin and bear it (and rant on mn!!)

PTA is really PITA.

She says, having been PTA sec for about 6 years, virtually running the show with former Chairperson who has no children left at the school. (current chair - no comment).

Still, we carry on regardless.

We would refuse to do it.Angry

We normally raise £1000 for the PTA/school, we run R Yr 1 and Yr2 together and then 3, 4 , 5 ,6 together.

I would tell him to take a long walk off a short pier. AngryAngry

Oh and BTW, our head comes and mans the door for the whole evening.

I agree actually.

We have to hold ours elsewhere as the school hall just isn't big enough, but Head and family are usually on the door, and will do the raffle if need be.
