What do you think of Barfield school in Farham?

I am thinking about sending my boys there next year (R and Y3). It looks lovely, but very small.
Does anyone know how good music is at the school?

I don't know about Music. A friend's son went there for years R-2 (left for economic reasons). It seems like a nice school, great facilities, has had a lot of changes recently.

All my three kids are there and they absolutely love it!! Music is good and children encouraged to take up an instrument. Several choirs, and orchestra and a rock band. It is a small school, but that's what makes it such a family environment and so nurturing and caring. Go and have a look round, meet the head and see what you think. We live it and haven't looked back. Good luck with your decision.

My two children are at Barfield - they play 4 instruments between them, individually and one will soon be good enough to join the orchestra. There are three choirs across the whole school, plus rock band, concerts termly, end of year Musical/Show, and external performances too. My children absolutely love Barfield - always lots going on, sporting wise, art and academically too, night camps are also a winner with the children. The Head is really approachable and the kids all love him too, which is a bonus! Hope this helps - Good luck in your decision!

My son went to Barfield - but he's graduated now so it's a long time ago!

The music director then was a fabulous chap - so enthusiatic and friendly it had all the children wanting to be involved - very inclusive. Lots of concerts and opportunities to perform.

Small but all the kids know each other which is lovely. Very friendly atmosphere. My oldest is about to leave for Farnborough Hill and I have a son in Y3 who is loving the trumpet and building up to the French Horn. Also have a little one in Owls. They all love going to school - which helps! Good luck with your decision. xxx
