Dallington school London - any views please

Considering moving dd1 (age 6) from state school to independent school. Her confidence at school is low (she is not at top or bottom of class and struggles with the little or no attention she receives in the middle as she causes them no problems/raises no eyebrows). We think she is a bright girl whose confidence is getting in the way of her learning. Dallington is one of two schools we are choosing between (we live NE London and do not want to drive to Hampstead). Like small class sizes and warm atmosphere without lots of pointless rules but have heard of lots of people pulling their children out of the school after the early years part too. Any views would be gratefully received. It is decision time for us.

Dallington is a very good school, with a super atmosphere. My little boy loves it.

Dallington feels like a village school in the heart of London. It is a very friendly place, and seems to get good results. My kids skip to school every day.

Hi
Just wondering how it went with choosing schools?

We are looking at schools at the moment. My daughter is in Nursery @ the Children's centre of Prior western school. The nursery is not great, but the school seems good. So my battle is, weather to stay here in a not so great nursery to get her into the school at 4, or to move her to Dallington School from September.

If anyone still has kids in either two schools I would be interested in knowing your thoughts.

How on earth can Dallington be compared to a state school? It is tiny! In my daughter's class (Y2), there are 11 pupils! It is more like a small, nuturing village school, with progressive ethos and an emphasis on creativity. Parents are v. involved and many do back-up tutoring at home. Kids love the place, but believe me it is nothing like a London state school. Good grief!

2017 - DS is in reception at dallington- hes been there for 2 years now-

small friendly school - friendly parents-
kids seem to enjoy it-

very play orientated in reception - not pushy
this means the kids get to know each other - and arent sitting behind desks-
discipline doesnt seem to be any kindof an issue so far
