I have spoken to loads of people now and they all seem to love it down there, guess i will find out what they mean when we finally get down and i can go for walks along the beach and get sore ears!.

This might sound like a really silly question but it one part of bournmouth nearer the sea or are they all about the same? Does this seems to affect the prices? We can drive and dont mind a good walk to get to the beach but would also be good to be near.

Also Is there anything that you really have to think about (because of being by the sea) when you are looking for houses to show wear and tear. You have to think about previous mining up north. Does that make sense.

My mum lives on canford heath and we go there for our hols. The boys love it and happliy play out in the street, but Ive no idea what the schools are like. It is looking a bit burnt at present as the heath fire went all the way up to my aunts back wall. we would love to move down there. Crime doesnt seem to be too much of a problem as all the houses are in culde sacs facing each other and they have a good neibourhood watch. Dont underestimate the importance of leisure centres etc though. The beach is lovely but not much good for long term play in the winter. Also the weather seems much better down there than near london where we live.

My advice is get the postcode of any house you are interested in and type into up my street to get nearest schools and then use ofsted

Its a site that's called something similar to this, but "mixed up" iyswim. Wink Don't think I'd be allowed to post the real name of it sorry, don't want to get shouted at.

come to Boscombe/Pokesdow/Southbourne. We are 15 mins walk from one of the nicest (IMO) parts of the coast. THere are some good schools, loads of young families etc. Boscombe has had a reputation for being a bit druggy so prices are a little lower. Pokesdown has affordable, big houses which are mainly victorian and have bags of character. We are 2 mins walk from school and 2 mins walk from a decent park.

elastamum - your auntie lives just around the corner from me then. We were near the fire too. I look out of my lounge window and the heathland is black. Sad
