Hi. Depends on which area you live. My DS goes to Haighenfield House Nursery school (private) at Worrall S6/S35. He absolutely adores it but will be starting Foxhill Nursery after Easter (free places and expecting 2nd child so need to cut costs!!). Other good ones I've heard about from my friends are Rivelin Nursery and Marlcliffe but are all in north Sheffield. Have a look at www.sheffieldchildrenfirst.org.uk where there is a list of nurseries for each area. I visited quite a few nurseries before deciding on one. Good Luck!

I know reputations of a few in the western side of the city, if that's where you are. If you use sarahlou's link and then come up with a shortlist there are quite a few Sheffield MNers who might be able to help further.

Sorry 123abc, not sure my recommendation will be much good to you - my ds's are in the ChildrenFirst at Breedon House on Scotland Street (right in the middle of town) which we all think is wonderful.

However, I didn't have any recommendations to help me either - I just visited all the ones that were close or between here and work and Breedon House just felt right. Must confess I never looked at any ofsted reports Blush

I live in S20 - I'm sure someone mentioned busy bees (?) in Beighton and one at Mosborough - Not sure if that helps or not as I have no experience of this - Just remember hearing about it from someone. I know that there are a few around beighton, Woodhouse, Handsworth area - Have you tried the childrens information service in town for details of the local ones.

DD's nursery is really lovely. It is in the Broomhill area of Sheffield (S10) so pretty central and it is quite a small one, but so friendly and welcoming. they have a big garden with hard area and big lawn, and a soft play centre for use of wet days. Food is cooked fresh each day and provided by the university next door.

When I was looking for DD is sent for brochures from lots of different nurseries, along with availability of days fees and waiting list times. I then made a short list to visit.

There is a kids unlimited just cornd the corner (almost) from DD's nursery - in S10. Not used it though, sorry.
