Yes, but, around here, they can't start until the term after they are 3 years and 3 months. Due to DD3 birthday falling over the limit by 2 days she missed out on a whole term and was nearly 4 when she started.

Do you mean they get a place in a state nursery? I don't think there are any in Sheen

They do pay for some private sessions though

They do around me. But, of course there are a lot more children than there are places. So I guess in reality not everyone gets one in a state nursery. But, you can get the equivalent 2 1/2 hours funded at a private one (i.e. Asquith court).

12.5 hours a week it is here, ie 2.5 hrs a day over 5 days

They get a full time state nursery place the September after they are 3 in the neighbouring LEA but in mine they either get a part time place in a state school nursery the September after they are 3 (5 mornings or afternoons) or funding t o put towards 5 playgroup/private nursery sessions.

I'm in Merton, SW London. There are plenty of places, every child gets one the term after they turn 3.

But we're thinking about moving to P'boro, and I was shocked to find out that there are only 6 state nurseries in the entire city. I know we'll get the vouchers, but I want to use them for a state school.
