I have just ben to my daughters options evening and was discusted by the way some of the parents behaved.
The evening was in two parts a short talk about the options for year 10 and then an opptunity to talk to the teachers about the subjects.
Well some parents didn't want to listen to the talk and were talking together and complaining they weren'table to habe the options form and booklet until after the talk.
Then when the teacher who was explaining about the options was trying to answer a parents question a lot of the parents got up and rushed on mass to get out of the door to go to the other room. The teacher had already said that the next part of the evening would be after the question time had fineshed.
These are the same parents who complain about tenagers behavior if that is the example they show them, then what do they expect?
Ther was no ned to rush as there were plenty of leaflets available for each subject and the teachers were willing to answer everyone who spoke to them. Sorry rant over
now we have the next couple of weks to help our daughter decide what she wants to do. As she is dyspraxic there will be some subjects she'll find difficult so we have to encourage her to take thse that she enjoys and will have at least some success with.
