None of mine have done it, but it must be better than listening to a small child learning to play the violin which is the only option around here

There is also this lady
here Beety. I have to be honest and say I like her a lot more than Sir James Galway
She does a lot of educational work and wrote the brilliant Choose the right instrument for your child

tortoiseshell · 09/02/2006 13:23

How long are the courses? I think in general that sort of thing is great, and he'll quickly get to know people. Go for it I would say!

Marina · 09/02/2006 13:24

We still do! Don't read it though it goes out in a pile with Peter Warlock Society Newsletter, Historic Brass Association Journal, Strad etc (you get the picture).
Beety, I suspect you might be not unlike the inspirational Atarah in RL...

Beetroot · 09/02/2006 13:24

That was meant nicely beety
She has helped countless children on the way to learning an instrument and she comes across as an unstuffy, imaginative teacher
I remembered you and the Shakespeare when googling her, that's why I said that.
You are not an elderly caftan-toting flautist...

Beetroot · 09/02/2006 13:57

phew, Marina,

Actually i thought, 'I wish'!!

I don't think it has left her destitute either mind
I know you are rethinking at the mo.
