Sounds like he'd make an ideal OFSTED inspector Wink

I had very little faith in the whole inspection process before...

He is basically very good at following protocol and ticking boxes- not using any sort of sensible judgments which I suppose just typifies the inspection of schools process.

Total farce...

I know of one head caught cheating at SATs (changing papers before sending them off) (year after year) became an inspector under the theory he would know how to catch others out...

He sounds like he will fit in well.

This doesn't surprise me at all. The headteacher of a local primary one of my children attended briefly, also became one. My child was badly bullied in reception, the HT blamed me and my husband and tried to report us to social services for child abuse, but luckily the paediatrician and ed psych service stood up for us as they knew her from old. I consulted a solicitor but in the end we opted for a private school The monster was pushed by the LEA into becoming a consultant and became an Ofted Inspector quite soon after. I believe they are some sort of Academy advisor/consultant now. I hope there is a demon waiting for her in Hell - we were not the only family that suffered.

This is one of the ways bad HT's are dispensed with - someone (maybe from LEA or a governor) has a word in their ear about a superb opportunity they would be perfect for and hey presto! It's so hard to sack bad Heads (and teachers imo) that this kind of thing goes on all the time.

"He is basically very good at following protocol and ticking boxes- not using any sort of sensible judgments"

That seems to be what they want from school management now.
