Educational iPad Apps

Hello,
This is my first post here, so please forgive my ignorance if I'm posting in the wrong place or if this topic has already been covered.

Basically, I'm trying to find a resource that suggests/reviews Educational iPad Apps for children. I'm thinking more about puzzle apps or reading/writing apps, etc

Is there somewhere on this site that already does it? Or does someone know of some good external options?

I've been looking for similar for ipod touch/android, so consider this a bump. What age/ability range are you looking for?

the Open University OUr Story app is ace for reading. it is fully customisable, so you upload your own images/photos, and add appropriate text - this can be from single letters to words to whole sentences. you can also record an audio to play for each screen. dd1 loves it (7, with ASD, reading at about reception level)

pocketphonics also very good.

writing wise - do you mean tracing letters etc? iwritewords is fab, and both my dds have loved it (but not phonic - you can always turn down the annoying voiceover though!)

Ooh - the our story one looks lovely! dd (in p1, same as YR) would love it.

the beauty of it is that you can really make sure they can read all the words by sneakily swapping the word order overnight Grin

dd1 has a near photographic memory, so once she has read it through once(or had it read to ehr) she knows it, so actually testing what she can read was a real problem (and expensive! we have every reading scheme going, just to have enough variety at the right level...). but not any longer!

I'm putting reading/writing/spelling apps (not all recommended) on this thread:

My 11y dd loves a new magazine style app called Lily.
Not sure but read somewhere it can be downloaded free on Friday.
It's very artsy/creative kind of learning

We like Dyslexia Quest, DD isn't dyslexic, but we've found it fun and educational.
