Great nurturing London private primary school (ideally North) for child with some special needs

I want to find a gorgeous school in London (ideally around NW3, N6 area but we'll move if needed) for a 6 year old boy with some difficulties with motor skills and a bit quirky behaviour at times. He's a bright boy and is good academically, but I want somewhere with a fun, modern approach and where they'll be supportive. We have all the therapy stuff in hand, so it's really just a place with the right attitude and where they'll be a bit more patient with him and where I won't have to feel guilty if he doesn't entirely conform, but ideally not a special needs school, as I think he'll benefit from good social models, as he has a tendency to copy other naughty behaviour! Ideally private as I want the small class sizes. He needs more support then a class of 30 can offer and I'm anxious about getting him a support assistant as I think he may benefit more socially from not having one - and so far I don't think he's needed one and with funding being as it is, he may not get a statement in any event. Am feeling so anxious about all this - would love any suggestions.

The Gower School in N1 might be worth considering. It is a small Montesori primary school to age 11, with a modern approach and a lovely light purpose-designed building. The Montessori ethos means that learning is tailored to the individual child, and I know that they have had children there with SN before. I don't have children there but know several families from DS1's old nursery that do - they are all very happy with the school.

I know a few families with children with sn who've pulled their children out of Gower and put them in state. IMO experience state is the best in these circumstances but am no expert.

You may want to try Heathside Prep in NW3. Very small class sizes and laid back (when compared with other local preps). Also very nurturing.

Try The Academy in Hamsptead.
