Hi myself and my 14 year old son are looking to join my boyfriend down south, he doesn't know much about schools and he is not as particular as myself,he currently lives in houslow and there's no way we are moving there,we are looking to get a place that he can commute to London if he needs to,but i don't want to live in London itself,The main priority is my son as he has been bullied for years and i have done everything in my power and has affected him ,as he has turned into a bit of a recluse and needs his confidence boosting,We currently live in a small town in scotland,We need to move as we don't have a life and we both cant take living hear anymore, but i really need help to find a area that is good for teenagers and has a good school,he deserves this so much, i don't mind comuting to find work, and it should be hard for me to find work as i am willing to do anything !my partner is starting his own business, we haven't much money but i will work long hours if it means my son can live some ware nice, please help, thanks for looking and your option would be greatly appreciated xx

I know you're not mad on London but have you looked at Ealing? its next to Hounslow! My 14 yr old son is very happy at Elthorne Park High School - it has a real community feel, academic pupils are well supported and it's great for music and drama. Bullying does not seem to be an issue there - it's very inclusive

i second this i lived in west london during my childhood, brentford actually, until i moved away. Ealing is a lovely place to bring up children and there are lovely parks there, south ealing/northfields are very nice. Richmond/twickenham/ham are all lovely places to live too and isleworth/st margareats(just down the rd from hounslow), however i must add all theses places are very expensive to live so dont no if you are buying/renting but unless you have a BIG/HUGE budget u dont get much for your money

kent - great schools, near the coast in one direction and good commuting times into central london. nice towns usually surrounded by countryside. secondary schools slightly hit and miss as it is a grammar school area so if not 'grammar' standard then the other schools are not truly comprehensive. best secondaries after the grammars are the c of e/catholic schools.

How about Guildford or Epsom? good state comps and towns for teenagers ... I think theres a good state school in Chertsey which is nearer Hounslow. I don't know much about how often places come up in secondary schools but wish you best of luck.
