Part-time teachers and hours for tax credits....

How do you work it out?
I work 0.4 of the full time hours, so 2 days a week. I am in school, working without a break, from 8am-4pm.
I have 10 timetabled hours including ppa, but obviously work many more hours than this.
How would you/do you work it out?
Thanks for any suggestions!

You can only declare hours actually paid for to tax credits, any you do over the contracted hours dont count if not paid as overtime.

Thanks for replying - I know that, but surely no-one is expecting a full time teacher to say they are only working 25 hours a week........contact time is one thing, but contact says somethign along the lines of 'hours necessary to get the job done properly'.

It's just deciding how many hours that is, that is tricky.

It does matter, its only the hours contracted and paid for. Millions of jobs expect staff to go overtime but tax credits only pay based on income earned and contracted hours - you can only add overtime hours if its paid.

What are the hours you have to be in school? When does briefing start etc? It's obviously not just teaching time. Meetings, registration, duties etc are all contracted time so have to be included.
