Would you move house for better schools?

We're strongly considering moving house to an area with better secondary schools and I was just wondering if anyone had done it? We're in London and being in an area with good schools is of high importance as, if your local schools isn't good you don't stand much of a chance getting in anywhere else! Has anyone who moved for this reason regretted it? Would anyone else do so?

I cannot afford to buy the house I live in, let alone one in a decent catchment anywhere south of Leeds.
I live in Hampshire.

I think we are keen to keep to the west of London - any other schools I
should consider please?

Just saw on the news that there is a "Where can I afford to live?" calculator on the BBC website. www.bbc.co.uk/news/business-23234033

Just saw on the news that there is a "Where can I afford to live?" calculator on the BBC website. www.bbc.co.uk/news/business-23234033 I guess you could use that and then find out if there are good schools in the area, or find good schools and then check whether you could afford to live nearby.

We moved from London to Ashford almost five years ago now...no regrets children in a beautiful school and doing well. Lovely safe community etc If we needed to move again for schools I would do it again

Glad it worked for you. Would you have moved a short distance in London?
