FrothingBeserker · 22/12/2011 13:27

yes thanks.

my children are at perfectly ordinary schools. nothing outlandish or outrageous about them.

of course, they are private schools, but hey, you can't have everything Grin

northender · 22/12/2011 13:31

Me too.

FunnysInTheGarden · 22/12/2011 13:33

me, normal state school for my very normal middle of the road DC

RussellGrantUniversity · 22/12/2011 20:35

me! DD goes to the village school. Muddles through. Seems happy Xmas Smile

I, on the other hand, went to a Russell Grant University

Pantofino · 22/12/2011 21:10

My dd's class is full of immigrants (her being one) and different ethnic groups. She loves it and is learning SO much. I love that her school days are so much more cosmopolitan than mine - white CofE school - and it really reflects the society she will grow up in.

The only bugbear I have is that for the Belgian equivilent of RE you have to choose. In theory this means Catholic/Islam/Judaism/Protestant OR morals. In reality unless she does catholic/islam she would be in a class on her own (we are neither) so she does Morals - but I would prefer a general RE class covering all religions AND morals.....I suppose the catholic and muslim parents would not agree with me though. Ho hum.

Sparklingbaubles · 22/12/2011 21:12

Yes all very happily ordinary here. Smile

PattySimcox · 22/12/2011 21:13

I'm ordinary, the schools are ordinary, my DCs are extra-ordinary Xmas Grin

TheAnnoyingSatsuma · 22/12/2011 21:18

Our ordinary most local (but just happens to be outstanding ofsted, but we didn't move to be near it or get the DC baptised before applying) primary school for my ordinary DC.

Secondary, however, is another kettle of fish altogether...

joanofarchitrave · 22/12/2011 21:21

Ds's school was ordinary until ds got there. Now there is a white light around it 24 hours a day and angelic voices can be heard in the canteen.

Pantofino · 22/12/2011 21:21

Patty Grin Of COURSE they are! My cosmopolitan comment sounds a bit twee - but of course that is purely MY take on things. Dd knows no different.

At her age I didn't know people HAD different religions. We sang All Things Bright And Beautiful, did a Nativity and learned of the Good Samaritan. Aged 7 we are able to discuss why people don't eat pork, why mothers wear headscarves OR don't, why her friend gets to go to DLP at the end of Ramadam, why certain kids don't do birthday parties etc.

ImNotaCelebrity · 22/12/2011 21:33

I'm with PattySimcox on this one! Xmas Smile
