When will the 2011 ones be published?

OP posts:
TalkinPeace2 · 13/12/2011 20:50

PegPolkadot · 13/12/2011 20:58

Isnt it Thursday?

Rosebud05 · 13/12/2011 22:15

I thought it was usually December?

OP posts:
TalkinPeace2 · 13/12/2011 22:33

last years bbc page is dated 12th january

Ilelo · 14/12/2011 20:12

I asked the Department of Education via their website and got an email saying they'll be out in January. They didn't say what date though.

Poundpup · 14/12/2011 20:13

It's 14/12/11 for KS2. I think the tables 'go live' at 09:30am.

TalkinPeace2 · 14/12/2011 20:23

link please

Rosebud05 · 15/12/2011 07:40

I couldn't decipher that. It looks like they're usually published in december - why the delay this year?

It's annoying for people who have to submit an school application.

What is there to decipher?
The Primary League Tables are available now.

IndigoBell · 15/12/2011 12:32

I like the new format! Lots more interesting info on there.

  • How lower and higher groups do (though I can't find defn - I presume they mean FSM / LAC )
  • pupil / teacher ratio
  • Avg teacher pay :) (ie do they just employ NQTs)
Rosebud05 · 15/12/2011 12:53

I meant that I couldn't decipher DanFmDorking's link.

Just spent an hour pouring over the one for our borough.

I don't know about elsewhere, but there seems to be a very strong correlation between % FSM and position in table.

OP posts:
Rosebud05 · 15/12/2011 13:00

Jeez.

The top performing school has 0% FSM, and 5 out of the bottom 6 have over 40% FSM.

That's freaked me out a bit, tbh

OP posts:
IndigoBell · 15/12/2011 13:01

That's the whole point of publishing the FSM data!

Yes, there is a scary relationship between FSM and position in table.

Rosebud05 · 15/12/2011 13:58

It puts a slightly different perspective on all the talk in the papers today about 'failing' and 'under performing' schools.

It seems very unfair to attribute the blame for this on 'unsatisfactory' teaching, when these stats show that this just can't be the only reason. Unless we assume that good teachers work in wealthy areas and weak ones in poorer areas? This isn't true, is it?

OP posts:
Rosebud05 · 15/12/2011 20:10

Do only good teachers teach in affluent areas, and weaker ones in poor areas?

Or is all the blaming of schools for 'chronic' underperforming in the papers today somewhat unfair?

What do others thing?

they are out now
