Does anybody have recent experience of Thomas's Clapham, Finton or Hornsby House? What were the schools like? Were there many international families? Which senior schools did the children move on to? Would you recommend them?
Also interested in opinions on Broomwood Hall pre-prep an Eaton House the Manor- though they are less good for us as the sexes are separated early.

Finton isn't really properly co-ed as most of the boys move on at 8, both Thomas' and Hornsby have pretty much a 50-50 girl/boy split.

Thomas' classrooms look like something out of the Midwich cuckoos (v high preponderance of blond, blue-eyed children), seems a lot 'posher', selective entry, I didn't warm to the head at all...

Hornsby is non-selective at 4, mildly selective after that, seems to be marginally more mixed socially, lots of French families, not really aware of large groups of other nationalities, other than some Australians and Americans. Very happy, kind school - my dc loves it there

Hornsby boys go on to Dulwich College in some numbers and last year a third of the y6 boys went to Whitgift, with a couple of Emanuel and boarding school places to mix it up. Bigger spread of schools for the girls - JAGS, Emanuel, Streatham & Clapham High, Wimbledon High, Alleyn's etc

A lot of Thomas' kids go to boarding schools inc Eton

Thank you, that's really useful. Is there anything you do not like or are less happy with at Hornsby? We really liked it and liked the head, but we have no experience of schools an DC is not yet two...
