Does a full time TA post exist anymore?

Been looking around at various options locally & I have only found adverts for part-time assistant posts. I was shocked to find many of them are 30 or 32.5 hours per week with termtime pay only (all be it spread out over the year) resulting in about 60% of the pay of a full-time equivalent.

I would love a teaching assistant job but with many of the ones I've seen advertised paying between 6&8k per year, who can afford to take these jobs? Confused

I am a TA and term time only too. It was changed a good few years back. And yes, full time hours is school hours with maybe half hour tagged on for some time before/after school, and no pay for lunch or breaktimes.

I am employed term time only, 39 weeks a year, and although I work 20 hours a week, I only get paid for 18.75hrs as I lose 15min every day for a 15 min break.

I do it as it fits in best with wanting to be able to collect DD from school and being flexible to go to her school events. I am actually a qualified teacher, so could be earning far more - but this way I get to do the fun bits with less stress and more flexibility. I do still do a fair bit of work outside of school too though, and often work more than my allocated hours - for example, I stayed at school today for nearly two hours longer than I should to catch up on bits, and I have work to do tonight too.

I am fortunate as DH earns a very good wage. My flexible part time job allows him to work longer hours and be less flexible. His higher wage enables me to have the part time low paid work to look after DD more.
