How can I help my son get into a good school?

My son is nearly 18 months old and seems to be very bright indeed and well ahead of other babies we know. He met virtually all his milestones early and already and can already count beyond 10. I would love for him to go to St. Pauls or Westminster. What can I do to increase his chances? Does anybody know which pre-preps have the best record of getting children into those schools? Any recommendations of tutors who work with this age group?

Thank you!

Kiosks
Aren't you the poster who had a surprise first pregnancy earlier this year?
Confused about the chronology or maybe I am confusing you with another troll poster.

God help us indeed Longtallgiraffe-I thought that had died out in the dark ages!
Reading the other posts Greythorne I was confused by the chronology-perhaps I was right with my first post.

If you were 22 weeks pregnant in June with your first, how come you now have a 18month old?

How about finding a really good childminder or nursery, part time or full time, where the care is excellent and if possible the carers are consistent, they do exciting things and talk a lot and where your child is happy (latter most important of all, obv)?

Our magnificent childminder and nursery did all sort of fun things which expanded horizons, games, socialised, developed child in all sorts of ways, including but not limited to the academic, without child ever noticing. And we could do other fun things - bed time stories, star watching, falling over in the mud, rushing through leaves, cooking etc. We prob did more cultural acitivities but that's only because DH and I like them.

But read the early years research: words and the ability to formulate ideas are very important, for example.

Naughty naughty oopsie.

Obviously your ds is very very very advanced, as you were only 16 weeks pregnant on 5th June. Smile

nice one OP Grin, were you bored?

exoticfruits · 24/10/2011 16:51

I wonder if OP is ever going to come back and explain.

Wormshuffler · 24/10/2011 16:56
