Steiner schools, what are they all about?
I have a friend who is thinking of sending her child to one and I really don't know what they are?
Thanks.

This school is going to be funded by the government. I have a lot of friends who went there.

I know that Steiner schools (like Montessori)place emphasis on the 'whole development of the child'. In Steiner schools though, formal learning begins later and is done in a very creative, artistic environment. There is a lot of emmphasis on nature study and natural things.
Hope this helps a bit!

Yes we looked into it with ds in NZ, but chose Montessori over Steiner, it was little ummm doctrine led, rather than child led.
But so long as they check it out fully, it may suit them, I a lot of people very happy with the schools.
