**** Nursery Chislehurst area - NEED HELP ****

Hello mums!

I live in Chislehurst (near Bromley) but I am NOT at all formiliar with english schools/nursery. I think privet schools here are very expensive and yes, I could afford to send my little girl to one but I could not afford this if I have another child which I desperatly would like.

Can anyone give me some tips on what is a good nursery and if privet schools are indeed better. How long are lists?? Any help is MORE than welcome as I haven`t got a clue and as all mums I just want what is best.

Thank you

What age?

babbington house is a very sweet school, non-selective, very kind and caring. I have friend happy with Braeside in Bromley. We had a very bad experience at Asquith Court nursery in Bromley, but the manager has changed so it may be fine now.

There's a lovely state infant school in Chislehurst but I can't remember its name!

Don;t worry about private nurseries as you will get vouchers to contribute to the cost.

How old? We used to live in Chislehurt and DS1 went to Asquit Court in New Eltham. I highly recommend it. It's private and quite expensive, but in my books worth every penny and more.

Hello.

Our little girl is 2 now and we would like to put her into nursery when she is 3, but I was not sure if we needed to be on a waiting list or so theirfore I wanted to inform myself early rather than late.

What are vouchers ?? And how much do they contribu? I come from Belgium and the system is so different their so this is all new to me. I appriciate your help mums!

Salut Mama224.
FairyMum is right, Asquith Court in New Eltham is pretty accessible from Chislehurst and it is a good nursery, although Head Office are dragging their heels about refurbishing one part of the building at the moment. The staff are excellent and it has a good reputation locally. It is a different branch from the one baka had all the problems with.
Elsewhere locally, apart from Babington Court and the generally excellent state provision in Chislehurst, there is Farringtons and Stratford House, an independent school on the Sidcup side of Chislehurst which has a nursery and junior department. This also has a good, caring reputation.
The vouchers scheme is government funded but how much you get depends on your local authority. You need to visit the London Borough of Bromley's website, or call in to Chislehurst Library and ask the staff there for the number of Bromley's Children's Information Service. The CIS will be able to explain the vouchers scheme as it works in LB Bromley, and send you a list of local nurseries and playschools.
You should try and visit as many as possible, to give YOU an idea of what you think is best for your child. Don't necessarily assume that only the private ones are any good - Chislehurst and Bromley in general is a good place to be for Early Years education. And very nice too!
