Would you correct a teacher if they got their facts wrong?

Dd1 started at secondary in September. She came home with some work for Design Technology last night. The piece of work says that x invented y in Britain but it was developed in Germany.
That is complete rubbish (we have local links to the invention and development). I've printed some stuff off to show the teacher - but now I'm wondering whether it's worth rocking the boat or not?

Yes, have corrected teacher in the past. DD has also corrected her teacher recently.

I personally wouldn't bother! there is so much disinformation around in history, geography etc - once you start, where are you going to stop? the important thing surely is to teach your children to question things and find the right answers themselves, and work with the system while not just accepting it without question.

It's worse when you're a teacher and you glance at hw another teacher has given her class which stated that Alexander Graham Bell invented penicillin.

Not sure what was worse, the name or the fact that she thought penicillin had been invented.

i would definatly....i would hate if my ds's came home and spouted some crap a teacher thought was right....its their job to teach fact, if they don't know then don't teach it.

Could b a genuine mistake but if so then i am sure she will b happy to have a handout
