Help how do I get into Brooklands

Hello, can anybody help me?!

My husband and I recently went for a tour of Brooklands primary school in Blackheath, before applying for a Reception place. Although there are other outstanding schools near by we fell in love with it. The atmosphere was lovely, we received a warm welcome from the Headteacher, he was very personable, which I haven't found on a lot of visits to schools.

Every classroom we went into was calm but full of activity the children looked excited and were all busy working away. The children were all polite and courteous. It was just such a lovely morning! However we have not been lucky enough to get in and have been given a school that we do not want.

Does anybody know how I might be able to appeal, my child does not have any special needs so I was wondering if there are any other grounds to appeal?

Please help Sarah

As the school has an admission number of 30 any appeal will be under infant class size rules. That means the only way of winning is to show that the council have made a mistake and that your child would have been admitted if they had got it right. I'm afraid there are no other grounds for a successful appeal under infant class size rules. You won't lose anything by trying and you might strike it lucky and get a sympathetic panel, but you should be realistic about your chances of success. Sorry.
