how do i and who do i complain to about the behavior of two women(parents with children at the school) who claim to run our PTA(or PFA as we call it) they've only been "running" the PFA since just before xmas since taking over from the previous PFA(who were wonderful and went out of their way to do things for the school) since the beginning of the year they've managed to make enemys of pretty much every other parent in the school, not only the parents but the head teacher, teachers and governors, they seem to have a vendetta against the head teacher trying just recently to sabotage the schools ofsted report(without success), all this stems from a personal disagreement with a member of the previous pfa which they took to the head and the head refused to back them up, its all completely ridiculous and appears to all stem from nonsense, we've got plans to set up something independant to raise funds for the school(a job that they should be doing!). but it makes me angry that people can get away with behavior like that they deserve some comeuppance, an official complaint is the only reasonable way. So is there any authority or organization that i can complain to about a pfa???

There are too few people prepared to 'step up' and take on these demanding roles within schools. When it's done effectively, it's an absolute asset to schools and the PTA people at our school are amazing, so giving of their time and energies. So, if you really think these two are as bad as you say, then get as many people together, and with your 'army' much bigger than theirs, and I imagine, with the support of 'pretty much every parent in the school' they have alienated, it won't be long before they get the message and get lost. As it's a voluntary thing I don't imagine there would be much you could do with regards complaining, I would just round up as much support as you can. It's a hard job though! I don't envy you! GOOD LUCK x

Does your PTA/PFA have a committee structure, and if so were the 2 mums voted into their positions? Could you call a general meeting and get some sort of vote of no confidence going?

Have the mums in question actually organised any events to benefit the school since they took over?

Thanks for the luck i think i'll need it! and yes we know that a properly run pta/pfa is an asset we had an amazing pfa previously(they retired due to their children leaving the school) which is why we aren't going to take the current pfa's behavior lying down! And yes the pfa does have a commitee structure and they were voted in but at the time they promised great things and they were friendly with everyone they needed to be! ..talk of a general meeting has been happening today so as long as we can get our army bigger than theirs we should be ok and be able to vote them out! ..since they've been in they've run a couple of cake raffles and they apparently have something in mind for easter but nobody's going to hold their breath! it's a shame there's no one i can complain to officially about them(i have searched the internet high and low but to no avail)as they(current pfa)claimed to have put in formal complaint to a pta organisation about the headteacher cancelling a meeting that they had planned to turn into a slanging match, but the head got wind of it and sent a letter out to the whole school saying it was cancelled. They are very big on putting in formal complaints and doing things by the book, which is why i was hoping to play them at their own game! Anyway thank-you for your responses
