WP Font for early reading practice

I was wondering if anyone could suggest to me which font on Word (admittedly I have an old version 97?) is closest to the print used in early reading materials such as Jolly Phonics and Oxford Reading tree. I wanted to make labels and flash cards to use with ds later on but don't want to confuse him by using something very different to what he is currently learning. I'm sure I've missed the obvious but no amount of fiddling around seems to give me what I want !

haven't checked but have you tryed Comic Sans as it's the child-like one i think!!

LIZS

We use comic sans for ds1 to send emails to his friends - it is the most similar to ORT and JP - ie., the "a" is a ball with a line, not the sqiggly one you get with times new roman.

I use Comic sans all the time as I like it, as it is easy on the eye.

Try here there is one called Boring Boring and that is the one we use as the child I was looking after last term was doing Jolly phonics. It has all the ascenders and descenders on the letter. It is a great site for downloading all sorts of fonts.

Try Century Gothic.

Alibubbles that is a brilliant site, thanks

I would definitely say Comic Sans too as it is one of the only fonts to use a 'proper' a. I use it for most of my school worksheets. It is easy to read and enlarges well.

I have found the best one to be Jarman - there is also a Jardotty which is good for little ones practising handwriting. You can get hold of them both here.

Thanks for all the suggestions - the Jarman looks really useful especially for writing practice and I've found that I already have most of the others in my version of Word.

Thanks again,

Try Sabon Infant DK - there is something I don't like about it, but can't remember offhand what it is. But it's pretty good. Comic Sans great too.

try 'sassoon primary infant'. It's the one we use at school. Problem is I don't know where you can download it from (sorry, sort of helpful if you can get it).
