cirencester?

ParisMum · 24/09/2005 13:59

I think my Dad used to do some examining there at one time. I'll ask him about it. He's an agronomist. What does your ds want to study exactly?

moondog · 24/09/2005 14:01

Dh works in ag. development,Didn't go there but he regularly points out blokes who did. Always seem to have ruddy cheeks, where those check flanelette shirts and have generous rumps.

Lovely chaps though!

ds wants to do DipHE in Property(Agency and Surveying)

maybe with a view to continuing on to the BSC in Property Agency and Marketing if he can cut the mustard

he doesn't have ruddy cheeks LOL or any check shirts

he is tall and skinny

fwiw zippiti, my dad doesn't know anything about the course itself but the Royal Agricultural College is extremely well reputed.
perhaps your ds should think about wearing a flanelette shirt to the interviews though

zippitippitoes · 26/09/2005 17:01

dd1 tells me that parents have to go to the interviews too, as the family is seen as a whole...this can't be true can it?

I found out a bit about it (looks lovely!) It has only been in the UCAS scheme with public funding for a few years, ds has a girl friend who went two years ago.

I will mention the shirt to him (he does have a suit he wears to school)

Its 15 minutes away from me, the types that go all are the check shirts and tan corduroys, and all have pro hunting stickers in their cars..most are arrogant bastards imho- but I knew a couple of nice people that went there.
Its a beautiful big place though- in lovely countryside.

zippitippitoes · 26/09/2005 17:28

will have to keep it secret if he gets in then

I went out with someone there (long, long time ago) - bloody good in bed was he (oh the memories)

MrsDoolittle · 27/09/2005 14:37

'The Royal' has a terrible reputation for being snobbish. They have a helipad to land the wealthy farmers sons' helicopters, apparently.
I've been to Harper Adams in Shropshire, their arch rivals and it seems much more down to earth.

zippitippitoes · 27/09/2005 15:01

Thank you I've now sent for a prospectus for Harper Adams but it doesn't seem to have a similar course, but there may be one that interests him.

I've no doubt that students arriving in helicopters will be appealing for ds rather than off putting!

They do have a dyslexia tutor there which quite surprised me.
