Reading - does anyone have a 7 year old who can read

  • almost most things, and if she can't she has a really good try, but whose spelling doesn't cut the mustard? She has her class divided into 4, but is only in the second stream on her spelling.

Can't remember if it was year 1 or year 2 and looking at amazon it looks like they have changed the software a bit. I don't remember cheese mountains. I know its wasn't the kindergarten one as we got that free later with a computer, too late for us This is yr 1 at amazon

It seems mad that a School would use bits of different schemes/systems, it didn't even occur to me until reading this thread that DS1's reading books weren't the Jolly Phonics ones.
