Baby with small blisters and bruises after nursery

Our 11 month goes to nursery Thur + Fri. When I got him home on Friday I noticed a blister on each thigh. We discussed it and were puzzled. When I changed him after his last feed at 11.45pm I noticed that about an inch below each blister a bruise had appeared. I din't tell my wife immediately but left her a note for the morning ( I am full of cold so I'm not sleeping in the same room at the mo). In the am we photographed the 'wounds'.

Problem is this: We think someone at the nursery has pinned him good and proper when changing him (and, has dirty fingernails, hence the blisters). We're going to mention it forcefully but we're trying to think is there a possibility that we're wrong and there is a PERFECTLY acceptable reason for it. Are we missing something obvious or are we dealing with what we think we are? comments please Mumsnetters.

I'm not sure how pinning a baby down would give blisters, tbh, bruises possibly. I would imagine that the nursery workers wear plastic gloves when changing nappies, so dirty finger nails is probably the wrong path to go down.

Yes, do ask the nursery if they have any idea where these marks could have come from and whether there are any areas of your son's care eg changing nappies that they find tricky.

i would take him strait to gp first thing this could be as a result of a number of things either medical or abusive. it could be impetigo or excema or use of straps in high chair if he is walking he may have climbed on a toy and rubbed his legs from rocking on it. Or even from your own car seat. either way the gp will tell you if this a common self inflicted injury that may have been caused acidently of it would appear suspicious
