Afraid so Pamina.
Me; what have you had for lunch today, DS?
DS: same as George
George's Mum: what have you had for lunch today,, George?
George: same as DS.

Although he has now spotted some of his classmates with nifty lunch boxes and decided that he wants packed lunches....

Sounds like a case of grass is greener from both of them Pamina. DS still not much fun out of school but I think we are getting the fallout and he is enjoying school. Big issue this morning becaue his one pair of school shorts were dirty so he had to wear trousers for the first time since May. Its not even that nice a day here.

figleaf · 08/09/2005 12:43

Mine goes in tomorrow for the morning. He`ll be one of the youngest. Our school have an odd system of induction - next week the oldest do mornings only they are joined by the middle third the week after then by the youngest the week after. This means after tomorrow we have 2 weeks to kill!

Ds was SO excited, when we got there he had the tiniest of wobbles, when the head asked him his name and he hid his face in my coat, but then spotted the toys and was away!

LIZS · 08/09/2005 13:03

dd went in depsite having a bit of a wobbly lip and fighting back tears while we waited outside. Found her peg, hung up her blazer, put wellies on rack, book bag in box and off she went with ehr teacher to some activity in a basket. Will collect her in a couple of hours. Just hope she wants to go abck tomorrow !

LIZS · 08/09/2005 17:28

She survived although not so keen to go back tomorrow ! Apparently only cried when she had to wait to be reunited with me at hometime as they weren't sure who I was, so sent the others out first. (she'd normally go to after school care to wait for ds) She can't seem to explain why her socks are inside out or the graze on her knee though ?!

LIZS · 09/09/2005 10:40

Oh dear, tears this morning - "I don't want to go in", she wailed .... we waited for the others to go first then her teacher took her hand and took her off to draw. She didn't even look back

SherlockLGJ · 09/09/2005 10:41

I am not going back there

Why ??

Well.........long pause,

It is not very interesting.......

PeachyClair · 09/09/2005 11:38

DS2 doesn't seem to care a jot! He's full time already (they had to come home for lunch first two days), and he doesn't seem to have noticed anything has changed. May be because DS! is there, albeit in year one? Strange though, he turned it into such a non event.

Pinotmum · 09/09/2005 17:45

Dd announced "I'll come again" when I collected her yesterday after her first day. She told me it's not good or great but fantastic. Let's hope she's this enthusiastic all the way through school

annh · 09/09/2005 18:18

DS2 started today (half days until Christmas)and as soon as I opened the car door he shot off down the road and beckoned imperiously from the school gate for me to hurry up! He was beaming from ear to ear while waving goodbye to DS1, (in yr 3), all through hanging up his blazer and cap, and almost didn't wait for a hug because he was in such a hurry to get to the sand tray. He seemed completely at home when I picked him up and, all in all, is delighted with himself. Let's hope it lasts!

PeachyClair · 09/09/2005 18:41

DS2 has decided he is bored of school now. LOL. He satrted before most of the others so they're just doing sand and stuff whilst they all settle (last bunch yesterday)- study starts next week with the theme 'our bodies'.

codsicle · 09/09/2005 18:42

yes ds3 "its boring"

codsicle · 09/09/2005 18:42

Well, my DD sat by no-one, did nothing, ate nothing, learnt nothing and had no teacher...hmmm

Finally found out that she argued with her teacher today. Was asked to colour in the rabbits blue and birds purple. Refused point blank - and so got no star. Why? becuase animals aren?t those stuuupid colours of course...precocious, know it all child alert...gonna be a battle of wills I think
