eyfs rules

Hi i am working in a preschool under the eyfs rules... I am struggling to agree with all that we cannot do now. for example we should not have any interaction in the art and crafts area. only blank paper should be available for them to make their own markings. stencils to colour in have hurt no one. as a parent and nursery nurse i feel too many people are stopping good work in these settings... rules upon rules are being made and i feel are just not needed. being told just how to do a display of childrens work is crazy. i love to see fun work. so be it that a farm has been created and on the wall... it looks inviting.
and children do know why they get a sticker even as early as 2 years, again this does not harm them. Confused what do you all feel?

I am not a fan of the EYFS at all, so I support what you say in its entirety.

As a parent it makes me feel that the setting is there to "mark what my child has learnt at home" rather than encourage and support my child in his/her development, in partnership with their home.

So many times we've asked a setting to help with something and they said that the EYFS wouldn't allow it. Go figure.

There are some aspects of the eyfs that seem somewhat odd, However whilst doing supply work in preschools I did see some shocking practice, eg. children as young as 2 being forced to sit and complete a workbook, staff holding children's hand to force the to create collages in a specific way.
Settings like this have forced eyfs on all of us.
For me personally there are lots of bits I like.
