I didn't cry, I was very brave. She went straight into the classroom and made straight for the dressing up stuff - typical!

Now I'm panicking that I didn't make sure she didn't need the loo before we left or that I didn't remind her that we'd be back to get her at 12.

Tell me to get a grip.

Get a grip!

Only 2 1/2 hours to go!

lol, enjoy it! Sounds liek your dd was very confident, must be havign a great time. I couldn't wait to get my dd off to school.

No I wont, sit and sob and stuff a huge bar of chocolate and tell me to get back to my cleaning.

Ladymuck · 02/09/2005 09:33

Get a grip, get away from the pc and go treat yourself to a latte somewhere .

Ds1's big day is next Wednesday - I need to make my plans. I already feel very unsettled. Doesn't help that ds2 has just moved into a bed so I feel that I have lost my babies overnight!

Mine is going next week, I know he is going and have the uniform etc.,

But this morning, I found myself picking up the phone to book him into the gym creche for next Friday, whislt I have a work out.

He will be at school, I won't need the creche.

DS starts nursery on Wednesday. I have just gathered all his uniform together so we can try it on today and take up any of the trousers if necessary.

I'm sure he will be fine when he goes. But just incase, I plan to pop in a few times during the day

cadbury · 02/09/2005 09:37

I've got a big chocolate cake and Aero popping over soon so I'll feel better I'm sure.

I expected to be very emotional there but wasn't. Just panicky now.

Have sent dh out shopping. Glad he was there.

not long to go now until you pick her up then youve got the whole weekend to recover from it lol.
i know how you feel though, my baby girl starts school on monday

She came out all bouncy. She had a lovely time and is now asleep after a fight to get her to bed. We met her with her Grandparents and she walked home holding their hands which tugged at my heartstrings a bit. She told them all about her day and what it was like but me and her dad couldn't hear as they were in front of us. I hope she will want to tell us all about it after a sleep. Thank goodness we have the weekend to recover before a whole week next week.

Wow! She's a school gorl now!

Is she doing full days next week?

cadbury · 02/09/2005 16:12

No, It's just mornings for the next 2 weekks, then mornings and lunch for another week then full days. They break her in gently. She looks so grown up in her uniform, but I've just been into her room where she is sleeping and she looks just like she did as a baby.

Starting school and still having an afternoon nap - how sweet! At least she doesn't have the full days just yet.

cadbury · 02/09/2005 16:21

She doesn't normally have one. I insisted because she is unbearable if she doesn't when she is this tired.

Oh what a cr*p mum I am. DS got an incomplete uniform on, just the shirt, without the tie. Really I should have got a polo shirt for him but the school shop was closed. When I got his school stuff they didn't have the polo shirt at the time. I feel so awful for him as he looked different.

I will be getting the rest of the uniform on wednesday when the shop is finally open.

Hi there. Oure little girl starts nursery next thursday. Her school uniform doesn't fit her as it's too big.She still tiny and only fits into some 12-18 months and 18-23 month stuff.Family have brought her suniform and it doesn't fit her as it's 3-4 year olds.So now I'm panicking as she'll be going to nursery in her own clothes at this rate....
I know oure daughter doesn't necessarily have to have one but we wanted her to as it would be nice to have her in one an it protects her own clothes.

Luckily she's allowedd to wear grey or black tracksuit bottoms so I managed to get her 2 pairs today plus a 2-3 year old red sweatshirt and 2-3 year old white shirts which is part of the nursery uniform.Luckuily they look small enough to fit her, haven't had time to try them on her though.
Oure little girl will be part-time until she settles in and then she'll be full-time, I've got to stay with her untilshe's ready to be left.
We're looking forward to her going to nursery but also wondering where all the time has gone, one minute she was this tiny baby and now she's a3 years old although she's still small. But when you look at her when she's asleep she still looks like a baby to me!!!!!But then again she'll always be oure baby no matter what age she is.

I sobbed on my way home from driving my baby to school today - and she's 11 and starting grammar school!

Hello, I hope you don't mind me joining in this thread as I don't often make any posts.
But my ds starts school next monday, and I'm SO nervous about it, he's not keen on the idea at all and says he dosen't want to wear his uniform. I'm so scared he's going to get upset & don't know how I'll cope with that, as I feel so emotional about it, it's all I can think about. Am I being silly? does anyone else feel like this?

Mae1 · 06/09/2005 12:15

My first "baby" (now 4&1/2) started full time school this morning - she was fine - couldn't wait to get there and get started - I was totally unconsolable - I went home and cried buckets - whilst hugging her toy bunny rabbit! Am I soft - or is this normal???
