Hi does anyone out there have any advice on the 2 schools? We are moving back to Uk next year and would appreciate if anyone had any experience of them.
One daughter is very academic and the other not so much but quite sporty.
Both have attended co ed private schools whilst we have lived abroad and a girls only is their choice. However am looking for an over all "feel" as wont be able to check them out physically until we return in next year.
Then we can look at rentals in vicinity.
Many thanks!!:)

There are a few mnetters around who know these (my DS is at a Kings junior school in Worcester, so no use to you !), so just bumping for you

TBH neither St Marys nor Malvern St James are academicaly as good as Kings (which is co-ed). The GCSE and A level grades are out now and all the Worcester/Malvern schools have their results tabulated on their websites.

If academic standards are very important I would suggest you pick a different area or persuade DD to go co-ed and go for Kings.

CMOT - I dont know you in RL but have name changed for this otherwise I would totally out myself. Grin

Thanks for info, yes the results are not as good, but did notice St. Marys has a new headteacher??
Will look into Kings though.

I would have to disagree with others posts and say that Malvern st James is a very academic school. This year the Alevel percentages were as follows: 81.6% achieving A - B grades and 26% at A. half of all girls achieved at least one A* with 100% of girls going on to University this year.

Furthermore, Malvern st James is ranked 23rd in the country's Girls schools League Table. Some might says Kings is more academic, but Malvern st James is by far a better regarded school achieving higher in more generalised League tables then Kings by far.

Hope this helps with your decision.

If you are considering Co-ed at all, my DD has just left Malvern College. You won't find much about them in the league tables as a huge number of pupils take the IB.
I would recommend you take a look - the pastoral care is fantastic, the sport and co-curricular timetable is extremely extensive and the quality of teaching (IMO) is excellent.
