Aldi mamia reusable nappies

Hi all hoping someone can offer some advice.

My very excited mother in law went a bit mad in Aldi's recent baby event - including some of the reusable nappies. We were looking into them anyway but I can't seem to find any reviews of the most recent style. The few reviews there are are either clearly paid editorials or once of the old style where the microfibre insert sat straight on the skin. This one has a pocket that you put the booster into. I don't think that we'll need them at first as I don't think the style is suitable for newborns but it would be good to get an idea of how well they work.

We were also looking at Tots bots and Baba and boo so any insights into them too would be great.

I've used these in the past, i used them whilst my eldest was small and then changed to other nappies. So you're right it's they're directly on the skin that isn't great but in the pocket that's fine. The issue you might have with them is that microfiber nappies are known to have compression leaks, but if this happens you can resolve it by popping a booster in the pocket too. I've used baba and boo in the past, they have double gussets which are good. My favourites were Little Lovebum, i couldn't fault then at all. The nappies go from weight, so depending on your child's weight and leg size/shape will depend on when you're able to start using them. X

We tried the aldi nappies and they didn’t work for us. We used the shells with some other inserts and that worked much better. We found that microfibre in general leaked the most, even with extra boosters. It is the thickest and most prone to compression leaks. I would either pair it with a bamboo or hemp booster, or I would use cotton/bamboo inserts in the shells. You can even fold up muslins to fit inside the pocket.

I also didn’t like tots bots as the Velcro rubbed her tummy, but you probably wouldn’t be buying theirs now anyway.

My absolute favourite nappies are Cubkind pocket nappies. They also have a buy back scheme so you can sell the nappies back to them when you are finished with them! Theirs are also the cheapest hemp boosters that I’ve found if you decide to go that route.

I also saw a discount code November15 but I’m not sure if that has ended now it’s December.
