I have just got a narky email because i did not accept someone's best offer!

I had an item on auction, it was listed for £20 and I wanted more, a significant number of people viewed it and were watching but no bidders at 1 hour to go, so i removed it and put it on as 'buy now or best offer £60'. A buyer emailed me saying 'what price do you want?' and I said 'make me an offer' and was told 'i made an offer of £25 and you refused it! You would only have got £20 from me if I had bid on it before, and I can buy it at Ikea for £100!'

So I emailed her back saying 'that was that auction at £20, this is a new auction, with a new price. if you are not happy with how much i want, you are not obliged to bid on it, and if you wish to travel to ikea to buy it for £100, you are also free to do so! Good luck with whatever you do!

You know most people bid at the last moment dont you ?

Regardless of that I think I would block that bidder from your auctions, it will only end in trouble.

ah yes, good point, best block her!

I did think that they bid at the last minute but it was all a bit too close for me, i got cold feet! I realised I put the bid too low, as I was not prepared to sell it at that, which is why i removed and relisted.
