What did I do wrong?

Hello I'm feeling a little bit confused with the end price of one of the items I had sold. I had a look at similar listings prior to listing this and they went for a lot more.

Why do similar items vary so much in their end price? I'm fairly new to selling, only have 25 points where 2 are from selling but 100% +ve feedback.

Can anyone give me some advice please?

I'm new to selling too but I think that the way an item is photograped, described and otherwise presented is the key to a successful auction. I noticed (via a completed listing search) that an identical item to one that I was about to sell had just gone unsold; the listing for that auction included just one photograph. My auction had four photos, taken in good light and from all angles. Perhaps this made a difference but then again, perhaps I was just lucky?

It is purely luck and who wants it at the time. I have had things unsold, relisted and had several people in a bidding war.Try to make sure that it shows up in a search.

If it is an expensive item people are more comfortable buying from someone with hige feedback. Scammers often sell small value items properly to get a small but good rating and then go for the whammy and rip people off.

Thanks for your responses. I shall bear them in mind for next time.

Also, try to have items ending on a weekend, when more people are online and free to look through the listings to find what they want to bid on in the first place.
