Request to mail to Hungary

I'm a novice Ebayer - as you will tell! I have listed an item (or rather DH did) we have been asked today whether we would mail to Hungary and what the postage cost would be. I don't want to put a potential bidder off, but I am thinking there would be a few potential problems:

The cost of postage would obviously be considerably higher, but how do you ensure the buyer pays the difference when it's not on the listing?

How do you cover yourself regarding proof of postage/ recorded delivery?

Any thoughts or experiences welcome.

Look on Royal Mail website for prices for delivery to Europe for the weight of your parcel (if under 2kg). Its not very expensive for smallish things.

Tell the bidder the price of the extra postage.

If they win, click on 'send invoice'. There is a bit where you can change the final amount. Its also used for when one bidder gets several items and you want to discount postage.

You should at least get proof of postage and at best send it International Signed For. It's more expensive, but trackable I think.

best thing to do for the future - pre fill all the p&P for europe and rest of world, then your items will be easily visible to all these countries and bidding etc simple.

Thank you. I'm on a steep learning curve!
