I guess it's early days but I'm getting frustrated because the cabin bed we sold on ebay is very large and now cluttering up our hallway. We have a party on Saturday and nowhere to put it so I need it out.

The auction went down at 7.20 on Monday evening. I sent the initial invoice with a note attached asking them to what extent they'd like us to take it apart for transport. Nothing. I sent another email yesterday morning asking them to get in touch and giving numbers. Still nothing.

What next? What redress do I have if they don't want to buy it any more? They've bid over £200 and brand new the bed costs a grand so I really can't afford to freecycle it but I need it gone. We have no space.

i think you have to give them 7 days to pay before you can open a paypal dispute. Then you could do a 2nd chance offer to the bidder before them.
You can also mutually agree to not go ahead with the transaction if they don't get in touch soon.

OK thanks Tortoise. That raises the spectre of me having a massive cabin bed in my hallway for about another fortnight or more if I have to go back to square one and relist it.

I had a huge american fridge in my sun room for 6 weeks due to a will it go ... wont it situation. After a few weeks we hardly noticed it

What a lovely feeling to have it gone at long last

LOL carrotfly. What a glass-half-full attitude you have. It's like that Julia Donaldson story, A Squash and a Squeeze where an old woman's problem of having a too small house is sorted out by filling brimful with animals then getting rid of them again.

I'll try to take your optimistic approach.

BTW I've just checked and buyer has to pay within four days of auction after which time I can take out a paypal dispute.

I'd rather just find another buyer really tbh.

You don't have to re-list it though. Do the 2nd chance offer thingy. Hopefully they will want it.
Shame i don't live near you! DD2 desperatly needs a new bed.
