Next clothes going for silly money

Look at this.

Surely the original price can't have been that high for 2 to0ps and a skirt? From Next?! Maybe that's what happens when you put "rare" in the title, although presumably any Next item is hardly rare.

em83 · 30/01/2010 18:46

It wont sell.

NorbertDentressangle · 30/01/2010 20:09

It did sell for £33.99

everylittlebeat · 31/01/2010 10:50

It's mad isn't it! The same seller has done well with some other Next items too:
£34.44 and £26.44.

I don't get why people get carried away and spend this much when they could just buy similar things cheaper from the Next website??

I think the descriptions are well written though - I'm trying to learn some tips for my own selling!!

Wow! I think I may have to start up my own ebay shop.

I remember seeing a childrens table and chairs that we bought in IKEA for £12 go on ebay for £40! They are still available in IKEA so its not as if the buyer had to pay over the odds because the item was no longer available in the shops.

I think Ebay attracts a high number of people with compulsive shopping addictions. It seems that way when you see what some people are prepared to pay for tat. [tat]

thedollshouse · 31/01/2010 11:07

There was supposed to be a in there. Not a [tat]. Feeling very spacey this morning!

That's ebay for ya! We are always amazed at prices. I never get vouchers either, quite often they sell for more than their face value - why is that? I don't understand!!

everylittlebeat · 31/01/2010 22:28

that's true about the vouchers actually - I noticed a couple of Shell vouchers recently that went for more than face value. I don't get it - is there some logical explanation???

maxybrown · 31/01/2010 23:19

I have no idea, has puzzled me for ages that one!! If you find out let me know.

Have found an even weirder listing here

The vouchers are often bought by people who dont want to withdraw funds from paypal to their own account, its a way of hiding money/an ebay business from the DWP etc. I remember reading something about it years ago.

maxybrown · 02/02/2010 21:41

ah right!

Downdog · 03/02/2010 14:58

hahahahaha I think it's hilarious! 'rare', from Next & for a toddler! What a hoot!

I think it's how it's listed - I've brought some great clothes for a song as no one else has bid - might be poorly described or bad photo.

Just sold a bunch of stuff last week & revving up to put more up this weekend. Probably not the best time to do it, but I can't stand the sight of the stuff anymore - it's got to go. Plus holiday coming up in NZ so I'm using proceeds to buy summer clothes/shoes etc for DD .
