Please help - i sold a genuine Christian Dior handbag, the buyer has received it today and sent me a really cheeky message (IMO!):

"hi,dear.i receive the bag today.really thank u for ur quick posting. but its too small for me.i really dont think i can use it. so i will return it back for u. and i dont mind to pay the fee for u post it for me.hope it dont give u much truble. thank u."

I listed the bag correctly, she saw what she was bidding on, and i specifically state on my listings that i don't accept returns. I've sent an initial reply back basically to that effect, but where do i go from here? As it was, i sent the bag by Special Delivery as she'd already nagged me to post it quickly which cost me considerably more than the P&P i'd charged.

Your advice please ladies. DP says i should stick to my guns on this one as i've done nothing wrong, but i don't like hassle. This is why i don't usually bother with eBay!

DO NOT ACCEPT IT BACK!

I did once and they sent an empty packet which I signed for so they had tracking. I was very lucky Paypal believed me as she had done it before and I had 300 good feedback rating but it could so easily have gone the other way.

You can refuse to accept any parcel and they return it to sender

BigusBumus · 13/01/2010 10:40

Absolutely do not accept the bag back. Scam or not she is breaking eBay Rules.

I am extremely experienced with eBay and know what I am talking about.

I urge you to call eBay Customer Services right away - 0800 358 6551 - they are really nice and helpful. Tell them all the details and they will make a note of everything against your account and hers so that she can't negative feedback you etc.

Agree with others here, def not with a feedback of 2!
But of course, be very nice and offer to say you don't mind if she wants to use your photo to resell.

Thank you all so much for your advice. I'll give eBay customer services a ring in the morning, and the whole family has been instructed not to sign for any parcels in the near future! Still not heard anything, but want to make sure I've covered all bases!

Ah, that's good to hear - result!

YouKnowNothingoftheCrunch · 14/01/2010 13:42

That's good. Hopefully a naive ebayer rather than a con-artist.
