I've been sold fake 7 jeans, what can I do?

I have stupidly managed to buy myself a pair of fake 7 for all Mankind jeans on ebay.
I didnt pay a lot, total of £15 but when they arrived its obvious they are fake (made in China) and poor quality.
I can't sell them on since they are fake and I dont want to keep them, or lose out on £15.

The seller did include several close up photos from which they did look genuine, but clearly they aren't...

Any suggestions for what I say to the seller in terms of getting a refund?

I feel very stupid...
TIA

If they aren't as you thought you can contact seller and ask them to refund u or open a dispute as item not as described

Thanks Jambuttie, any thoughts on how to prove they are fake?
They are labelled made in China, is this enough do you reckon (think all 7 jeans are made in USA)?
They're poor quality and clearly fakes - I own some genuine pairs so I do know the difference - but its hard to prove this..

They are really bad quality and not the size they should be, another thing which flagged they were fake.
The fit is tiny compared to the genuine pair I have which are the same style/size...
I'd have to give them away, which is a bit of a waste of money.

did the seller say they were genuine

if not you still have him on size

surely you knew they would be fake for £15

jemart · 19/12/2009 18:35

Ask seller if you can return them as they don't fit, if they refuse open a not as described dispute with paypal.

Pannacotta · 19/12/2009 18:40

They were listed as 7 for all Mankind jeans with photos of the labels etc, according to ebay that on its own is selling counterfeit goods.

I paid £15 for them but could have paid more, it was simply luck that no one else put in a higher bid. I have bought genuine used designer jeans for very little before on ebay.

I will tell him the size is out too so hope he will be reasonable...

You will get your money back if he is selling fakes so don't just mention the size thing

Pannacotta · 19/12/2009 18:45

Thanks Imisssleeping (I miss sleeping too!), good idea re the size thing.
Best to ask him first for a refund or just open a paypal dispute?

I'd give him the opportunity to resolve the problem amicably first.
If you just plow in with a dispute straight away paypal will freeze funds in his account - which is quite a nasty thing to do to someone at Christmas.

Jambuttie · 19/12/2009 20:16

Email seller saying the quality etc is poor and that you would like a refund- if they fail to respond open dispute with paypal and say you think they are fakes due to quality etc
