Hi all, bit of an ebayer novice here so any advice would be very welcome.

Having decided on getting a certain game console for DD for Christmas and looking through the shops and ebay for the best (but reliable) bargain, I found an auction which looks all legit, seller seems really nice etc.
I made an offer and won the item yesterday. She has just emailed me to say that her nephew had scribbled on the box of the console which can be seen on one of the photos and to let her know if I was ok with it and to let her know as she'll be posting on Friday - this scribble was NOT mentioned in the description.

I'm not really TOO too bothered by it to be honest, however I am slightly disappointed as obviously it would've been nice to know before hand.

So what do you think, should I just say 'oh well' or what - any ideas?

Just to let you know, my offer was only £15 less than the BIN price, and she had declined 7 offers (none from me) prior to that.

TIA
x

As it is just the box i wouldn't worry about it. Would it have made a difference to you if you knew before making an offer?

If you are OK about it then just tell them that you would have prefered to know before hand but you are happy to go ahead with the purchase.

You can reject the transaction and ask for a refund as the item does not conform to description. Or you could cut a deal with her and ask for a discount (partial refund). Or if the box/scribble is not that important, I would be tempted to leave it and just go ahead with the transaction. You could ask her to send you a photo of the scribble ahead of payment to allow you to make the decision.
