Whose risk is an item at if the buyer has arranged a courier?

I have decided to sell my heavy items for collection only but i am prepared to box up if the buyer wants to arrange a courier to collect it. I've had a look at the ebay rules for selling to try to find out whose risk the item is at whilst in transit with a courier organised by the buyer. Can't find anything on this though?! I assume the risk of loss/damage is with the seller if they have arranged the courier?

I'd be grateful if anyone knows ebay's rules on this point!

TIA

If you are concerned why not arrange it yourself? It's very easy to do online and you can arrange pick up to suit yourself then.

i would personally just arrange courier myself its not that difficult at all parcel to go weight up to 10kg is only 7.96 you can then make sure you'll be home for the item collection etc and also insurance will be yours then for that item its better all round

We use this site courier to choose the cheapest/best options. You can track the items all the way from collection to delivery (even overseas)which can help avoid 'non-delivery' claims. You just specify on your listing you're sending it by courier - that way the buyer is expecting a higher postage charge
