I listed mine on eBay, was brutally honest with regard to description and photos and tho it had lots of 'watchers' i needed to relist it twice but then i got the asking price.

The guy that bought came to collect it and after inspecting it said it was in better condition than he had expected and was very pleased.

we sold classic car on ebay, had buy it now and reserve loads of people came and viewed offered less money.
then it went over reserve, just before the end of auction it went over buy it now price.
and sold for more than we wanted. buyer was foreigner, he paid direct to bank account and transport company came and collected.

yes as said just be honest. i took photos from all angles, including inside and the engine.

Dh sold his classic bike on ebay earlier this year and it was terribly exciting!

hadn't thought about the potential excitement aspect - just feel a bit bleurgh about filling in all the details and trying to think of selling points (eg: smells of wet dog and stale cigarette smoke)

have looked at similar ones and prices vary madly, do you just put it up for £1 and hope for the best?

I did full valet on the car that we sold thru ad in local newspaper that was bought for scrapping because the bits were worth more than the car itself!

Be honest (if it smells disgusting?!) but include everything that you can to increase its value. Have you a full/any service history, is it relatively low mileage, does it have desirable features (air con, recent new brakes) etc etc.

Can you follow a couple of similar cars on ebay and find out what they actually go for. Don't undersell yours. Prices may vary because car is remote or because one is top spec and the other isn't.

Dh looking at buying a car any day now as our family car is on its last legs. He's done a LOT of research! You may already have a life!

it does have lots of extras, I suppose there are a few selling points - and it will smell better after proper valeting

have so enjoyed swanning around in it today with the roof down that I don't really want to part with it now, but I must be sensible and claw back as much £££ as poss
