Would you be pissed off about my wrapping materials?

Maybe I'm just being paranoid!

Someone has bought quite a lrge toy from me which which I said I would post, I was'nt sure where I would find such a large box so I have put the toy inside a Pampers nappy box, padded around toy with a lot of carrier bags and then covered box witha bin bag and masking taped it all up.

Would you be pissed off about this? It looks a bit shawdy and I can't help but think it looks a bit half done although I do state in all my listings that I do reuse old packaging to keep costs down etc.

As long as the product turned up on time, in good condition and as decribed, I wouldn't give two hoots!

pagwatch · 28/09/2009 08:47

god no

The only issue is whetherthe product is packed in a way that ensures that it turns up clean and unbroken.

Don't give it a thought.

I bought dd a vtech globe last Christmas which I remember came in a Pampers box! No problems...as others say, I don't care what it comes in as long as it comes in one piece!

mamadiva · 28/09/2009 08:52

Thank You.

Buyer bought through the night with BIN so emailed her this morning to say it won't be posted until Wednesday as I could'nt get out for materials until tomorrow but as I have improvised I will be able to post a day earlier so I would imagine that should make up for crap packaging

Wouldn't bother me as long as the buyer wasn't adding loads to the postage for packaging costs.
All I care about is that it arrives safely.

mamadiva · 28/09/2009 08:56

I actually think by the size of the box I've undercharged but still atleast no packaging costs...

I've had items posted to me in nappies boxes, bin bags, carrier bags etc and as someone has already said as long as the postage is reasonable and the item secure I'm fine with this.

gingernutlover · 28/09/2009 12:34

when i bought dd's reusable nappies off ebay they arrived in a pampers box! That made me laugh actaully, but wasnt annoyed about recycling of boxes etc.

crokky · 28/09/2009 12:40

I would be happy with the pampers box - don't think that's crap at all. I wouldn't mind the bin bag as long as it was secure and wouldn't tear/the address come off etc. Personally, I don't see the need to cover the fact that it is a pampers box - could you just not tape it up and stick the address on?

Meglet · 28/09/2009 12:49

Another vote for the pampers box. Doesn't have to be pretty does it? Just secure.

Firawla · 30/09/2009 12:59

ive had a toy arrived in a pampers box before, i didnt mind at all. the item had been well padded out and arrived in a good condition, so all was fine

behonest · 01/10/2009 13:30

I recyle all my packaging to keep costs down. What I do when a pzckage looks shoddy is either use a carrier bag turned inside out or a binliner for the outer wrapping as it adds no weight to the package. This makes it look neat at least for the buyer.

A small tip but I hope it helps.
