Can you help answer this question about my 'well worn trainers' .. ahem!

Inspired by a thread on MN I listed my 'trashed trainers' and have recieved the question 'how smelly are they?'

Now bearing in mind I want to sell these trainers for as much as possible, I need a good answer, I dont think just saying 'very' will cut the mustard.

So all you frank, open minded MNers, what should I answer?

(I am a reg btw not a troll, red rug, judge flounce, cod arf etc)

Does anyone know what they want you to say when they ask if they have any tears or splits?

Probably yes from heavy usage.

He also wants to know if they have ever been soaking wet?

Again, yes, you wore them in the rain or had to go through a stream or something.

Unless he's trying to get you to give more details of sweatiness...

you need to set up a hotmail account too that they can email you with any further quesitons, that's what the succesful shoe sellers seem to have, sometihn like wellwornshoes at hotmail.com

Then you can really feed their need

I'd just like to point out tha I've never done this. I am guessing the right answers.

But I may find a pair of shoes and be back on this thread with my own questions from shoe-lovers later!

Well large sizes do better obviously, it looks like

Sometimes it looks like people have listed with a start price of £20 and it works. 99p listings are cheaper to put up but only get you any money if more than one person wants your item.

Private listings, where the usernames of poeple bidding aren't visible.

There are quite a lot not selling as well as those that go for lots of money, so you're definitely doing the right thing by replying to the emails and putting the work in.

She claims to be a 17yr old 6th form student.. surely in breach of ebay and paypal- don't you have to be 18 to buy/sell on ebay?

BC you would prob know best re law...

I just searched for 'worn knickers' > and it seems that you can indeed sell worn knickers under the description of 'never worn' IYKWIM.

There are email addys like OMDB descibes. Can you imagine the questions you would get for a pair of knickers, bearing in mind what I have received for just a pair of trainers - doesnt bear thinking about

Yeah, but trillian I think really the 'buyer' is just emailing for the titillation and has no intention of bidding... what do you think?
