Pain in butt buyer telling me...

Wuxiapian · 16/04/2009 10:44

... that the Fenn Wright Manson skirt she won auction for isn't brand new as I stated.

She "used to work for FWM" so she "knows what it's supposed to look like"

The skirt IS brand new!

She's opened a dispute and raised to claim.

What am I supposed to do?

Any advice very much apprecited!!

i'd get her to return it then refund. some buyers are loopy

TheOtherMaryPoppinsDiets · 16/04/2009 11:21

Get her to return and refund, not worth the bother as Paypal will normally find in favour of the buyer regardless

Bucharest · 16/04/2009 11:26

I'd fight it. But then I'm bloody minded. Paypal found in my favour over some nutter claiming I'd lied about some children's brand new trainers and foam bath...(same buyer..said she'd weighed the bubble bath and it was too light to have been unused....)

Wuxiapian · 16/04/2009 11:38

I wonder what processes they went through to decide in your favour, Bucharest...

It really irks me having to refund. It prolly just don't fit her. Or something.

Tut.

So, if I check the "Issue the buyer a refund for the disputed amount of £*.*GBP. The buyer must return the item(s)." box on the dispute page, will it automaticaslly refund her there and then or do I contact her through Ebay asking her to return?

Thanks again.

I'd make blimmin sure I got the skirt back before refunding anything.

No idea why they decided in my favour, tbh, I noticed her f/b was poor (about 87% I think) and she had a few f/b spats where she'd quibbled with people, so maybe she was already known to them as someone who tries it on.

Good luck.

TheOtherMaryPoppinsDiets · 16/04/2009 16:40

Just a thought but do you say no returns/refunds on your listing? If so ( only are you always supposed to offer it so no idea why they even give you that option in a listing!?) it could be her way to get round it by pretending something wrong with it.

Wuxiapian · 16/04/2009 17:18

Just checked my listing for item in question and "The seller will not accept returns for this item" is under my "Return policy"

Does this make a difference. TOMPD?

I just contacted her through Ebay asking her to return for full refund, too.

Grrr!!

What a palava!

TheOtherMaryPoppinsDiets · 16/04/2009 17:42

no doesn't makea difference but you are liekly to get buyers who it doesn't fit/change their minds and wreck an item just to get a refund.

You can't actually refuse to refund, regardless of what your listing states, paypal will find in their favour 99% of the time.

Which is why it's totally pointless that Ebay give you the seller, the option to put no returns if it's not worth paper it's written on!

expatinscotland · 16/04/2009 17:50

Would she have to pay all postage to return it?

I would think so!

I never sell on Ebay anymore because buyers can rip you off.

TheOtherMaryPoppinsDiets · 16/04/2009 17:52

Buyer would have to pay to return the item yes. By trackable means, toherwise you could say you hadn't recieved it ;)

Wuxiapian · 23/04/2009 16:41

Ok, buyer has returned skirt.

And guess what? The cheeky bloody cow has worn it! I can tell by the way she's ironed it!

So, she wins auction, tells me it ain't new as described and raises paypal claim, wears item then returns!

What the hell now?!

Can she get away with this?!

I am very, very angry, but hoping for some words of advice.

CarGirl · 23/04/2009 17:20

Did she send it back recorded?

Wuxiapian · 23/04/2009 17:26

Yes, Catgirl.

I received it this morning. She send it recorded delivery.

She surely can't be allowed to get away with that!

CarGirl · 23/04/2009 17:28

You would have to go to dispute and risk she will get a refund but there again you have the item anyway so you may well win.

Would you be able to tell the difference from the photo you put on ebay to a photograph of it now?

sixlostmonkeys · 23/04/2009 17:33

I'd risk going through dispute. Keep it simple and state that the item has not been returned in the state it was sent ie it has been worn, washed and badly ironed.

Block her from future bids

Saltire · 23/04/2009 17:38

Can you smell fabric softener on it, or cigarette smoke, or anyhting that would indicate it had been worn

Wuxiapian · 23/04/2009 17:47

Thanks, guys.

On dispute page, the only box to check now is to say I've received item and then it'll issue her refund.

There's no way of communicating with buyer now - we're past that stage.

It hasn't been washed - there are a couple marks which were definitely not there when I sent it and new iron creases in it.

Just not sure what to do...

CarGirl · 23/04/2009 17:55

well don't tick the box!!!

Have a look on the ebay forums see if someone on there can help you.

ilove · 23/04/2009 17:57

You can phone paypal

Wuxiapian · 23/04/2009 18:12

I just tried, ilove.

Automated thing and didn't get to actually speak with anyone - total waste of time.
